HiMyNameIsIan, and “You Are A Pirate!”
October 2, 2006Hi, my name is Ian Walker… I’m from Alexandria, Kentucky and this is my first “real” post on this blog. I love peer-to-peer technology and developing FrostWire. Although I don’t believe it, but I have been told that I work as an IT (networking) professional… I also like long walks on the beach and holding hands.
Besides working my 12 hour shifts then coming home and working on FrostWire a few hours a night, I like to entertain myself with reading other people’s blogs.
While glancing through a few blogs, I found an intriguing post about a childrens television show called “LazyTown” in which produced a childrens music video to which I thought contained some rather contradicting lyrics to the RIAA/MPAA mindset. These lyrics will not only get stuck in your head and before-you-know-it you become a pirate, but will also induce pirate-like behavior among children. If your child begins swearing uncontrollably (aka “pirates tounge” or “sailors mouth”) and almost every sentence they speak starts or ends with “YARR” or “ARRG” (commonalities differ from child to child) then it becomes imperative to see your nearest local RIAA organization, for it might already be too late. If this behavior is neglected, you might start noticing odd behavior such as: The child will start discovering and exploring new music genres and developing tastes for independent lables, making large quantities of compilations CD’s for themselves or friend’s, checking into local bands and sharing those albums with other internet users… the list goes on. But it’s very funny how someone took a soundtrack clip from this video and created a flash animation that laughs at LimeWire’s recent lawsuit. As far as I know, it came out the same day the RIAA filed a lawsuit against Lime Wire LLC (Lime Group LLC). I got a good laugh out of these video’s. Be prepared to feel an uncontrollable and irresistible urge to be pirate! See your local anti-piracy orginization immediately after!

And Here is the LimeWire Parody
(Note, I am not advocating piracy in any such way, just noting the odds. Hopefully, LimeWire can win this case and their countersuit.)
